Reception opening hours:
The reception is open at the following times:
All year: 8:00 - 12:00
From April 1 - June 30: 16:00 - 18:00
From July 1 - August 31: 15:30 - 19:30
From September 1 - October 19: 16:00 - 18:00
From October 20 - March 31: SELF CHECK-IN
Check in & check out:
Please arrive within reception opening hours.
If you arrive outside reception opening hours, there is self-check-in. There will be a detailed explanation on the reception door.
If you wish to check in early, you are welcome to call and ask if this is possible.
For early departures, please leave the room keys in the mailbox to the left of the reception.
Room info
Remember bed linen
Bed linen must be used. You are welcome to use your own linen or rent for 80,- per person.
Used linen and towels must be put back in the linen bag and returned to reception.
If linen is not used, you will be charged DKK 500 per bed.
If you have forgotten linen and arrive outside opening hours, you can pick up a linen bag at the entrance to the living room in the basement.
Breakfast in the morning
Breakfast is served in the dining room from 7:30 - 9:00. Remember to pre-order your breakfast.
Free WiFi
There is free WiFi throughout Danhostel Kolding.
Network name and code are available in the rooms.
No smoking allowed
All indoor areas are smoke-free. This also applies to e-cigarettes (vapes, puff bars etc.)
In case of violation, a fine of DKK 2.500,- will be issued.


Facilities
Common room
To the right of the reception and basement shaft, there is a door that can be accessed with a key card. Inside the door, down the stairs, you'll find our living room with a TV room, toys, table football, air hockey, darts, etc.
Guest kitchen
In the large room wing facing the parking lot you will find our guest kitchen. The guest kitchen can be used at your own risk. When using the guest kitchen, you must clean, wash dishes, put dishes in place, etc. after yourself. The bathroom in the guest kitchen has a washing machine, dryer and drying rack. If you want to use this, you can pick up a key for DKK 60,- at the reception. There is also an ironing board for free use in the bathroom. The iron can be picked up at the reception.
Fun & play
By the steel staircase from the garden up to the dining room, there is a box containing king games, rackets with balls, skipping ropes and other outdoor play activities. You are welcome to use the equipment freely. Please put them away after use. If the soccer goals are not on the lawn, you are welcome to put them out on the lawn. The goals are hanging on the gable of the main building.
Grill
There is a fire pit on the stairs between the two room wings that can be used as a barbecue. If you need coal, you can find it in the cushion box next to the fire pit.
Akturum
Danhostel Kolding is part of Akturum, which is Slotssøbadet, Dronning Dorotheas Badstue, Kongeåbadet, Sct. Jørgens Gaard, Forum Kolding and Nicolai Café.
Slotssøbadet: There is free access for overnight guests. Tickets can be picked up at the reception at Danhostel.

Queen Dorothea's Sauna: Do you want a relaxing wellness experience as part of your stay? Contact our reception to hear about the possibilities. Entrance fee as a guest at Danhostel Kolding is DKK 225,- per person. (normal price 325,- per person.) You can't guarantee your stay, but please contact our reception to find out about available times.

Forum Kolding: In Forum Kolding Bramdrupdam you can play outdoor padel. It's a great fun sport where everyone can join in regardless of level. The padel courts are designed for 4 people. You can borrow balls and bats at the courts. To book the padel courts, please contact Danhostel reception. Price for 4 people for 1 hour DKK 100,-

Koldinghus

Trapholt
Trapholt is a museum of modern art, crafts and design with unique architecture and a scenic location by Kolding Fjord. Trapholt is a national cultural lighthouse in the design city of Kolding, as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Geographical Garden
Geographical Garden is a 14-hectare botanical garden where the geographical aspect relates to the fact that trees, shrubs and herbs are planted together by country of origin. The garden is a diverse place with room for visitors of all ages. Many people use the Geographical Garden as a meeting place or as a green breathing space. For children and young people, it is particularly popular to visit the garden's playgrounds, the Bamboo Grove, etc.

Playground
In the playground you can climb, swing, slide and much, much more. You can also race in mooncars, go for a ride in a rowing boat or bicycle boat and much more. You can enjoy your food or coffee in one of the three activity houses or cook sausages at one of the four barbecue areas. Finally, there is a kiosk and toilets.
